Lesson 2 (II)
Sunday, 1st December
For the main part of the lesson, the kids would work together in small groups of 3–4. Each group gets a tablet or computer, and the goal is to create their own digital wheel spinner. The teacher would first show how to use a simple app or website like Wheel of Names to make one.
Then it’s the kids’ turn! Each group would brainstorm Spanish fruit names and add them to their wheel. They can even make it fun by adding fruit pictures or giving their wheel a colorful theme. Once the wheels are ready, the groups take turns spinning.
When the wheel lands on a fruit, someone in the group asks, “¿Te gusta(n) [fruit]?” (Do you like [fruit]?). The others reply with either “Sí, me gusta(n)…” (Yes, I like it) or “No, no me gusta(n)…” (No, I don’t like it). Everyone gets a chance to ask and answer questions, so it’s a good practice for speaking and understanding Spanish.
To close the lesson, the teacher could ask if any group wants to show their wheel spinner to the class. This would ideally lead to a fun discussion where the kids talk about what they liked or learned during the activity.
