Podcast

Tuesday, 4th December

Our last lesson focuses on creating a short conversational podcast in Spanish about fruits. It came to our heads because like that, the students will have a product at the end which they created by themselves, They can also perform in the new contents they have learned in this unit, using the new vocabulary and phrases, like expressing opinions (me gusta, no me gusta), asking questions (¿Te gusta...?), and describing quantities (hay..., mucho, poco) of fruits.

To start, we’ll recap the key points from previous lessons, reminding students how to talk about preferences, ask and answer questions, and describe fruit quantities. Then, in pairs, students will plan and write a short script for their podcast, including all these elements.

Using Audacity, a tool they’re already familiar with, students will record 1-2 minute conversations in Spanish. It would be important to make sure that everyone participates. The teacher will support the language use and the technical process while students practice pronunciation and conversational skills.

This activity ties everything together, letting students creatively apply their Spanish knowledge while practicing collaboration and communication.

Why is Using a podcast useful?

The recording can be played back, allowing for teachers and children to assess their speaking. Functions, such as pausing, fastforwarding and rewinding will support the evaluating process.

The podcast can also be used as a tool for comparison to monitor children's progress.
