In this project, we learned that teaching through interactive technological tools is a very good and modern way to keep students motivated and enable a better learning process. Digital tools like our spinning wheel, bar graph makers or smartboards can make abstract concepts easier to understand. And suddenly, you have a lot of creative ways to practice language skills. However, it’s crucial to find a balance. Using interactive games or activities too frequently can end in the result of not being fun anymore for the students, if its not an exception anymore. Also, it has a big distracting potential for students who already have problems concentrating.
Nevertheless, tools like Quizlet flashcards strike the perfect balance. They offer the digital access, you dont need those endless little paper notes anymore, and still you create an cool way for students to reinforce their vocabulary. It’s efficient, eco-friendly, and keeps the focus on learning rather than managing physical materials.
Besides the tools, what is really important to us when it comes to this project, is that we create a multilingual environment in the classroom. Each of us three have another linguistic background, and it is a gift that we have the possibility to learn new languages together. It doesnt only help us to communicate but also makes us appreciate diverse cultures. Building a multilingual classroom makes inclusivity a bigger topic and gives students a broader perspective of the world.
